South Pasadena Police Department Crime Report

A male suspect entered the South Pasadena Christian Church in the 1300 block of Lyndon through an unlocked window and stole a guitar, camera, cables, headphones and a laptop at 10:37 p.m. on March 20.

A male suspect pried open a roll-up door into South Pasadena High School in the 1400 block of Fremont Avenue between 12:15-6:15 a.m. on March 28. Losses are unknown.

Suspects entered a victim’s garage in the 1200 block of Huntington and stole comic books and a car jack between 12 a.m. on Jan. 1 and 9 a.m. on March 28.

Three suspects duped a victim into depositing money into a Bitcoin ATM at 10:30 a.m. on March 27. The first suspect called the victim and claimed to be an Amazon employee collecting payment for a purchase. The victim denied making the purchase and was transferred to a second suspect claiming to be a bank employee that transferred the victim to a third suspect claiming to be an FBI agent. The third suspect instructed the victim to deposit the money and the victim complied.

A 2013 Hyundai Sonata was stolen in the 1700 block of Oxley between 10 p.m. on April 2 and 6:50 a.m. on April 3 and was recovered by LAPD Olympic Division on April 3.

A motorist was arrested after being stopped for a traffic violation for having an outstanding warrant and for allegedly possessing narcotics by Fremont and Huntington at 12:06 a.m. on April 1.

A catalytic converter was stolen from a vehicle in the 2000 block of Fair Oaks Avenue between 12 a.m.-5 a.m. on March 28.

Pillow cushions were stolen from a victim’s porch in the 800 block of Montrose at 11:10 a.m. on March 30.

A victim’s bank account was accessed during an attempt to make an unauthorized purchase sometime between February and June 2022.

These alleged crimes and incidents were reported to the South Pasadena Police Department between Tuesday, March 28, and Monday, April 3. Information was gathered from a weekly crime summary published by SPPD’s Crime Prevention Unit.
