South Pasadena Police Arrest Suspect in Stabbing Incident

A 42-year-old unhoused man suffered multiple stab wounds to his face, chest, arms and hand following a violent altercation with another unhoused man in South Pasadena on April 21.
At about 6:30 p.m., South Pasadena police officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of Fremont Avenue in response to reports of two men engaged in a physical dispute.
Upon arrival, witnesses told authorities the two fled toward the E Line Train Station, formerly known as the Gold Line.
The police found the two men on the train station platform and the suspect, a 51-year-old unhoused individual, was taken into custody without incident.
The victim was able to identify the suspect as his assailant. The weapon used in the assault was recovered at the scene by officers.
According to authorities as of April 24, the suspect has been charged and is currently being held at Alhambra City Jail, facing charges of attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon. The victim was promptly transported to a hospital and was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
