South Pasadena Police Department Crime Report

A man was on the second floor of his residence in the 800 block of Flores de Oro at 7 p.m. on May 2 when he heard the sound of someone smashing a window in his home. He walked downstairs and saw a man wearing all black clothing and a facemask in his home. The interaction scared off the burglar, according to the victim. The suspect fled before police could apprehend him.

Patrol officers arrested a man for arson after they observed rising smoke near Mound Avenue and Monterey Road at 3:28 a.m. on May 3. Officers observed a suspect throwing pinecones and dry debris on an open fire. He was apprehended and booked on arson charges.

A suspect walked onto the victim’s front lawn near Monterey Road and Indiana Avenue and forcibly removed a plant at 11:15 a.m. on May 5. The victim confronted the suspect, who then punched the victim and hit the man with a can before fleeing the scene.

These alleged crimes and incidents were reported to the South Pasadena Police Department between Tuesday, April 30, and Monday, May 6. Information was gathered from a weekly crime summary published by SPPD’s Crime Prevention Unit.
