Softball: Tigers Offense Struggles Ahead of League Opener

The South Pasadena High School varsity softball team was shut out by visiting Mark Keppel High of Alhambra 7-0 in a nonleague game on Feb. 27.
Natalie Kan pitched three scoreless innings with a pair of strikeouts, while Lucia Atencio pitched four innings with three strikeouts. Meanwhile, Daphne Malatesta, Leila Nolasco and Juliana Mostert each tallied a base hit.
The Tigers lost at Crescenta Valley High in La Crescenta 9-0 in a nonleague game on Feb. 23.
Kan pitched four innings with two strikeouts, Danica Stirling recorded a double and a walk, and Emma Becerra finished with a base hit.
South Pasadena (1-3 overall) will open Rio Hondo League action at Temple City on March 1 at 3:15 p.m. before hosting Los Angeles Sacred Heart of Jesus on March 4.
