South Pasadena Middle Schoolers Move Up

Principal Cheryl Busick welcomed friends and family to the South Pasadena Middle School promotion on May 31.

ASB co-Presidents Lucy Dorosin and Jaiya Zafra served as emcees followed by Ayano Wakui’s flute performance of the “Star-Spangled Banner.”

Busick shared her best wishes with the 373 graduating students and Akito Kato’s gave a dance performance to “Shivers.” A series of speakers included student Kimy Zhang’s “Already a Difference,” a welcome to South Pasadena High School from Principal John Eldred, recognition of award recipients by Denise Tanaka, and student Kara Wang’s speech on “It’s the Who Not the What.”

ASB officers Lucy Dorosin, Carla Oboza, Kara Wang and Jaiya Zafra presented the class, and in closing, Assistant Principal Stephen Lewis gave the farewell address.
