Riffle, Aragon Help Tigers to 42-0 Victory

It was a memorable night for South Pasadena High School’s varsity football team, which earned its first shutout victory since the 2019 season by throttling host Marshall High in Los Angeles, 42-0, on Sept. 2.
Marshall couldn’t contain the South Pasadena’s offense, as the Tigers (1-2 record) scored at least one touchdown during each quarter en route to their first win of the season.

Senior Jack Riffle scored four touchdowns and senior quarterback Noah Aragon also had a stellar game, completing seven of nine passes (78%) for 122 passing yards. He added three carries for 11 yards.
Aragon connected with Riffle on a touchdown pass, and Riffle added three more rushing touchdowns to score over half of the Tigers’ total points. He finished the contest with 91 all-purpose yards on three receptions and nine carries.
On defense, juniors Quinn Stirling (six solo tackles, one assist) and Matthew Takasugi (three solo, four assists) held the line with seven total tackles each, while seniors Jaden Castello (three solo, three assists) and Alex Gonzalez (four solo, two assists) followed closely behind with six total tackles each.
