H. Randall Leach

Harry Randall Leach, Randy, passed into his peace on Monday, October 9, 2023.  Randy was  born  in Evanston, Illinois on April 25, 1946 to Ralph F Leach and Harriet S Leach.  He leaves behind so many who loved him, including his wife of 47 years, son, daughter, twin brother and wife, sister, nieces and nephews and extended family.

Most of his lifelong friendships began in his childhood home of Bronxville, NY.  Randy studied architecture at the University of Virginia, a career choice he made at age 7. Upon graduation, he began his career as a Vista volunteer at ARCH in Harlem, NY.  After his marriage, his career took him from the design firm Mitchell Giurgola in NYC to Zimmer Gunsul Frasca in Portland,  Oregon and later in ZGF’s LA office.  In the early 2000s, he retired to start his own firm to pursue his interest in residential architecture, for which he received several awards. Randy and family lived in South Pasadena for 10 years, where he was an active member of South Pasadena Rotary, served on South Pasadena architectural review board, served on the board of Hathaway Sycamores.

Randy loved music, Dodger baseball, his pets, playing his guitar, and most of all his family, to which he was devoted.  Randy was eternally optimistic, and an inspiration to all, especially in his heroic struggle with more than twenty years of Parkinson’s Disease.  His ever-present warm, natural smile spread joy to all who knew him.

A memorial service will be held on December 2,  2023 at First United Methodist Church, Pasadena at 1:00.
