The Monterey Hills promotion ceremony held on the school’s campus June 4 welcomed families to a celebration of its elementary students.
The event began with a fifth-grade band performance, and spring student council President Adalyn Wong led the Pledge of Allegiance before the singing of “America the Beautiful.” Fall student council President Alexis Lim shared class memories and was followed by the presentation of the class gift, additional choral performances and speakers.
Principal Jessica Zavala and PTA President Tamami Gianfrancesco also provided remarks. The South Pasadena Kiwanis Club presented a bicycle to graduating fifth grader Derek Muller, who demonstrated kindness, helpfulness and a positive attitude throughout his years at Monterey Hills.
