South Pasadena Police Department Crime Report

A 39-year-old Los Angeles man entered a Chevron gas station in the 1400 block of Mission Street and took cigarettes from behind the counter at 2:19 p.m. on June 14. When the employee confronted him, the man pushed the employee and exited the store without paying for the merchandise. The man was later arrested.

A suspect approached a victim’s parked vehicle near Monterey Road and Kolle Avenue and then proceeded to smash the window and punch the victim who was inside at 7 p.m. on June 4. The suspect and the victim were acquaintances.

An ID card was reported stolen from a parked vehicle in in the 1800 block of Peterson Avenue at 3:10 a.m. on June 11. 

A suspect removed license plates from a vehicle in the 1400 block of Mission Street between midnight on June 13 and 8:21 p.m. on June 21.

Two juvenile males were seen brandishing a pistol at a bus stop in the 600 block of Mission Street at 10:12 p.m. on June 10. When approached by officers, the suspects were found to be in possession of a bb gun, alcohol and marijuana. The two juveniles were arrested.

A 32-year-old Los Angeles man trespassed into Whittier Trust in the 1600 block of Huntington Drive and locked himself inside a room at 4:22 p.m. on June 9. Officers pried the door open, and the suspect was taken into custody. 

Officers responded to suspects attempting to steal a catalytic converter from a vehicle in the 1700 block of Grevelia Street at 3:35 a.m. on June 13. While en route to the location, officers saw the suspects driving away in a white 2012 Mercedes and attempted to stop them. The suspects led the officers on a pursuit, which was later discontinued by police.

A suspect cut into a tented residence undergoing fumigation in the 1100 block of Huntington Drive at midnight on June 5. The victim’s security camera alerted the victim to the suspect’s attempt to open a window, which prompted the victim to tell the suspect that they are going to call the police. The suspect then fled the area.

These alleged crimes and incidents were reported to the South Pasadena Police Department between Tuesday, June 11, and Monday, June 17. Information was gathered from a weekly crime summary published by SPPD’s Crime Prevention Unit.
