Suspect Arrested in Commercial Break-In

A 52-year-old Santa Barbara resident was arrested on suspicion of commercial burglary in a break-in on Mission Street on May 30, South Pasadena police said.
Police responded about 12:54 a.m. to a business in the 900 block of Mission Street because of a reported burglary in progress. The officers arrived within minutes and observed a broken window. During a search inside the business, police said, they found Amen Wind Toomey hiding behind a counter. Toomey was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Alhambra City Jail.
Because of countywide release policies, Toomey was released with a citation, police said. Anyone with additional information about this incident is urged to call the South Pasadena Police Department at (626) 403-7270. If you would like to provide an anonymous tip, you can call Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS (8477).
