South Pasadena Woman’s Club to Host ‘Operation Cookie’

The Woman’s Club of South Pasadena will host “Operation Cookie,” an event which collects cookie donations for hospitalized and special needs veterans, on Wednesday, May 22, at its clubhouse, located at 1424 Fremont Ave.
Operation Cookie sends decorative containers of cookies to veterans’ hospitals for distribution to patients in spinal cord injury facilities; general and post-surgery; nursing and convalescent care; and psychological post-traumatic stress care units.
Donations of all cookies, store bought or homemade, are welcomed and sugar free cookies are especially needed.
The cookies are distributed throughout the southland, including to the Wounded Warriors Battalion at Camp Pendleton, Military Women in Need, to homeless veterans served by the Veterans Affairs and to other groups serving physically and emotionally impaired veterans.
A minimum of two dozen cookies can be delivered to the Woman’s Club clubhouse between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. on May 21 or between 7 a.m. and noon on May 22. Convenient curbside drop off is available both days.
The club also needs volunteers to help pack the cookies into decorative containers and welcomes financial donations to help cover the costs of materials used for Operation Cookie. For more information, call (213) 300-9305.
