Baseball: South Pas Looks to Turn Fortunes Around

The South Pasadena High School varsity baseball team lost to visiting San Marino 7-2 in a Rio Hondo League game on March 11. Junior Jon Bracamonte pitched a complete game with two strikeouts and no walks.
Senior Devin Robinson registered a hit, two runs, a stolen base and a walk, junior Leo Castillo finished with a hit and a walk, and sophomore Aaron Kawasaki tallied a base hit. Senior Jesse Chavez walked once and stole a base, while senior Luke Riffle walked once.
The Tigers lost at South Hills High in West Covina 3-1 in a nonleague game on March 8. Junior Ben Regan pitched a six-inning complete game with two strikeouts and no walks.
Robinson went 2-for-3 with an RBI, senior Griffin Johnson produced a hit and a stolen base, and Bracamonte and Castillo each had a base hit. Riffle walked once, scored a run and stole a base, while senior Elijah Garcia stole a base.
South Pasadena (4-7 overall, 0-2 in league) will host Venice High of Los Angeles for a nonleague game on March 16 at 10 a.m. before hosting Temple City on March 18.
