Boys’ Tennis: Tigers Unbeaten Entering First League Match

The South Pasadena High School varsity boys’ tennis team defeated host Arroyo High in El Monte 15-3 in a nonleague match on March 1.
The Tigers received singles sweeps from No. 2 Emilio Lois (6-0, 6-0, 6-1) and No. 3 Lucas Cornforth (6-0, 6-0, 6-2), while No. 1 Max Slattery won a pair of sets with scores of 6-1 and 6-4.
South Pas also came away with sweeps in doubles from No. 1 duo Aidan Liu and Christopher Wong (6-0, 6-1, 6-2) and No. 2 pair Emett Mendel and Zachary Lee (6-0, 6-3, 6-4). The No. 3 tea, of Jean-Luc Andre and Dylan West added a 6-3 victory.
The Tigers (3-0 overall) will visit San Marino for their Rio Hondo League opener on March 12 at 4 p.m. before hosting Cerritos on March 14.
