Wellness Center Gives Students a Place to Kick Back and Unwind

As students gathered in the South Pasadena High School Wellness Center on Feb. 15, there was a noticeable buzz in the air about the renovated space and the opportunity to have a special place to chill and relax.
With soothing music playing in the background, students and staff gathered to celebrate the renovated SPHS Wellness Center, located in the back of the counseling center. The space includes cozy chairs, dedicated study space, colorful artwork and calming activities. The renovation project was led by Train Your Brain Specialist and school social worker Natasha Stebbins and will be curated with the help of the SPHS peer mediators.
“Thank you to SPEF, SPHS PTSA, the D.U.D.E.S., and the Kiwanis Club of South Pasadena for their generous donations and commitment to helping improve student mental health,” SPUSD said in a statement.
The space is available daily at brunch and lunch to any student looking for a relaxing space to unwind.
