A police investigation led to an arrest of a 66-year-old South Pasadena man on suspicion of arson.
On Saturday, Feb. 3, at 2 p.m., South Pasadena police officers were dispatched to a business in the 600 block of Fair Oaks Avenue for a vandalism investigation. After speaking with the store manager and viewing surveillance video, officers determined that an arson had taken place in front of the store the previous night.
Officers recognized the suspect from prior contacts with him. Believing that the suspect was still in South Pasadena, officers searched the area and located him in the 900 block of Fair Oaks Avenue. The man was arrested on suspected arson and is being held in jail downtown Los Angeles.
