SPUSD Welcomes New Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources

South Pasadena Unified School District has hired Judy Correnti to serve as the new assistant superintendent of human resources. She will officially step into her new role in January 2024.
Correnti currently serves as the chief business officer for Garvey School District, and she will bring 25 years of experience in education to her new position. She began her career in human resources at San Gabriel Unified School District in 1998.
As a human resources assistant, she helped oversee the work of the personnel department and after six years, she moved on to El Monte City School District, where she worked as a human resources analyst. There, Correnti served as a resource for administrators and employees on all technical aspects of the human resources department. From that point, she transitioned to San Marino Unified School District, where she was hired as a human resources analyst, then became a coordinator and then director of human resources.
“SPUSD is fortunate to hire Judy Correnti with her wealth of experience and knowledge about the inner workings of a human resources department in an educational setting,” said Superintendent Geoff Yantz. “She has a deep understanding of school district operations, complex laws, compliance, credentialing and various aspects of employee relations and management, coupled with an undeniable desire to support all students and staff.”
Correnti holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of La Verne and a master’s degree in business management with an emphasis in human resources from Azusa Pacific University. She has earned a Negotiators Certificate from the School Employers Association of California and also a School Business Management Certificate from the University of Southern California.
Correnti will begin her new role in January 2024. She replaces interim assistant superintendent of human resources Kim Sinclair.
“SPUSD expresses its deepest thanks to Mrs. Sinclair for her leadership, organization and passion during her time leading the Human Resources Department. Sinclair will be retiring, and SPUSD wishes her all the best in her future endeavors,” SPUSD said in a statement.
