Obituary | Rhonda Louise McIntyre Hall

Longtime South Pasadena resident Rhonda Hall, 80, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday 9/16/2021, after a courageous fight and many years of health problems.
Rhonda, who was born in Alabama, moved to Pasadena with her first husband in 1960 and had two children, Todd and Wendy Parker. After a divorce, Rhonda met Charles “Chuck” Hall, who adored children and saw a single gal with two young kids as a great fit for him. They married in 1970 and moved to Sierra Madre, where Chuck worked as controller for the local hospital. Soon came along a daughter, Renee.
After a little moving around, the family settled on Windsor Place in South Pasadena in 1976. Rhonda worked as a florist at Silver Birches in Pasadena for many years before beginning her more than 20-year career as an Interior Designer in South Pas, first, at Charm Colors on Fair Oaks Avenue, then she opened her own Interior Design firm on Mission Street, Simply Perfect Interiors. She was a member of ASID and participated in decorating the Showcase House in 1989-1990. When Chuck fell ill with cancer in 1996 she closed the doors on Simply Perfect and cared for him around-the-clock until his death in 1999.We are sure Dad was waiting to be reunited with the love of his life with a freshly mixed gin and tonic and Neil Diamond playing on the turntable.
After Chuck passed away, Rhonda immersed herself in the life of her granddaughter Danika, her many friends and travel. She lived a robust life of painting watercolors, socializing with friends and neighbors and always gardening in her favorite place, her backyard. Rhonda had a wicked sense of humor, a contagious laugh and a passion for reading, growing vegetables, caring for her home and visiting with her grandchildren, who brought her great pleasure.
She is survived by her children Wendy, Todd and Renee; her sister Dottie; and her grandchildren, Danika, John, Mila and Knox.
There will be a Celebration of Life at her home on Saturday, October 16, at 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you consider donating to a memorial bench that will be placed in Garfield Park to honor both Chuck and Rhonda Hall, who were South Pasadena residents from 1976-2021. For further donation information, contact Renee by emailing momofknox@gmail.com.
