South Pasadena Police Department Crime Report

A suspect entered through a second-floor window of a residence that was under construction in the 2000 block of Oak Street sometime between 5 p.m. on May 22 and 8:58 a.m. on May 23. Tools were reported missing from the property.

After a woman entered a Ralphs in the 1700 block of Garfield Avenue at 12:15 p.m. on May 31, an employee caught the individual eating food and told them to leave the store. As the woman left the store, she took the food item without paying. The employee again confronted the woman, who brandished a screwdriver. The woman, a 34-year-old Pasadena resident, was arrested.

Two male juveniles entered a 2018 Hyundai Elantra and tampered with its ignition in the 800 block of Bank Street at 4:19 p.m. on June 3. The tampering activated the alarm, which alerted the car’s owner. After the suspects were spotted in the vehicle, the victim yelled for the two juveniles to exit the car. The suspects complied and walked away. The pair was later arrested.

A road rage incident was reported near Fremont Avenue and Magnolia Street at 12:45 p.m. on June 10. The suspect, a man in a black sedan who was wearing sunglasses, pepper sprayed the other driver.

A victim joined an online fan club for an actress and requested a meet and greet with them. The suspect instructed the victim to make payments in gift cards between January and May 30. The victim complied. The suspect then sent the victim two checks and asked them to deposit the checks and send a portion to the suspect. The victim did not comply and discovered the checks were fraudulent.

A witness saw a suspect attempt to gain entry into a locked dugout at the South Pasadena High School baseball field in the 1500 block of Diamond Avenue at 2:10 p.m. on June 6. The suspect, a 34-year-old Los Angeles man, was arrested.

A suspect is stopped for a traffic violation and is found to be in possession of marijuana and items used for sale near Fremont Avenue and Laurel Street at 1:35 a.m. on June 9. The suspect, an 18-year-old Los Angeles man, was arrested.

A suspect scratched and smeared feces on a victim’s vehicle in the 1900 block of Alhambra Road sometime between 6 p.m. on May 30 and 9:21 a.m. on May 31.

These alleged crimes and incidents were reported to the South Pasadena Police Department between Tuesday, June 4, and Monday, June 10. Information was gathered from a weekly crime summary published by SPPD’s Crime Prevention Unit.
