Carolina Toomey

It is with sadness that we announce that our loving mother, Carolina Toomey received her wings on Sunday, October 31, 2021, after battling a long illness.

She was born in 1931, in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, then moved to Los Angeles with her family the following year.

She was a proud graduate of Bishop Conaty – Our Lady of Loretto High School in 1950. Carrie was an early member of the Multiple Sclerosis Society and an active member of Holy Family Catholic Church and community volunteer. Carrie’s arts and crafts talents were many, she enjoyed her experiences catering for the Dinah Shore Show. Some of her fondest memories were times vacationing with her family along the East coast and camping on Rincon Beach.

She was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Marie Vizcaino, brother Michael Vizcaino, sister Cecilia Kincaid, and by her daughters Alice Ledbetter (Terry) and Eileen Toomey. She is lovingly survived by her childhood sweetheart and husband of 71 years Paul Toomey; sons Tom (Pam), John, and Jim (Cat) Toomey; and 6 grandchildren: Noah (Amy) Toomey; Jonathan (Ashley) Toomey, John Patrick Reardon, Travis Ledbetter, Morgen Toomey, Claire Toomey, and Camille Toomey and 6 great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her entire family.

Rosary and funeral services will be held November 15 at 10:30 a.m., at Calvary Cemetery and Mortuary at 4201 Whittier Blvd., Los Angeles.

The family would like to express our great thanks for the support and care our beloved mother received from Huntington and Kaiser Hospitals. If desired, friends may make memorial contributions to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
