Theatre Group Presents Comedy ‘Hay Fever’

The South Pasadena Theatre Workshop will present Noel Coward’s classic comedy “Hay Fever,” which runs through July 14.
Directed by Sydney Walsh, “Hay Fever” transports audiences to a 1920s English country home where the Bliss family reigns supreme.
Judith, a retired actress, her novelist husband David, and their children Simon and Sorel host a weekend gathering full of unexpected guests and misunderstandings.
The theatre group will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the comedy, as well as Coward’s 125th birthday.
Coward was an iconic English playwright, composer, actor, and director known for his wit, sophistication, and sharp dialogue. Born in 1899, he rose to prominence in the 1920s and 1930s, becoming one of the most celebrated figures in British theatre. Coward’s works often explored themes of love, class, and society with a satirical and comedic touch.
The South Pasadena Theatre Workshop is located at 1507 El Centro St. General admission is $35, with showings on Thursdays and Fridays at 7:30 p.m., Saturdays at 5 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. A special Thursday performance on June 20 will offer a “Pay What You Can” promotion, providing audience members a chance to pay what they can at the door.
