City to Celebrate Spirit of Community on Fourth of July

South Pasadena will be celebrating the Fourth of July holiday with the Festival of Balloons, with this year’s parade theme titled “Hometown Heroes: Celebrating the Spirit of Community.”
The festivities kick off at 7 a.m. with Kiwanis Club’s Pancake Breakfast at the South Pasadena Fire Station located 817 Mound Ave. The opening ceremony for the parade will start at 10:30 a.m. at the South Pasadena Public Library Community Room on 1115 El Centro St. The parade begins at 11 a.m. and travels from Diamond Avenue to Garfield Park, where games, a live DJ and food will be available until 2:30 p.m.
A live concert featuring The Kings of 88 will be held from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., followed by a fireworks show at 9 p.m. at the South Pasadena High School Stadium on 1401 Fremont Ave.
Presale fireworks tickets are $15 per person and available online at southpasadenaca.gov/events. Children 2 and under are free. Gates open at 7 p.m., and attendees must bring a copy of their receipt and tickets to enter the stadium.
