Two teachers from the South Pasadena Unified School District received Outstanding Educator Awards presented by state Assemblyman Mike Fong on May 30.
Katy Chen, a math teacher at South Pasadena Middle School, and Holly Long, a second-grade teacher at Marengo Elementary School, were nominated for the second annual awards by members of the public from throughout the San Gabriel Valley.
The award recognizes educators from the 49th Assembly District who have displayed dedication, passion and tireless effort to empower and inspire the next generation of leaders.
