The South Pasadena High School Alumni Association will host its annual all-class alumni reunion picnic at Garfield Park from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 8. SPHS graduates who live locally and far away are invited.
“We are very pleased to continue this annual tradition that began more than 40 years ago,” said association President Mike Thurman. “We expect to see SPHS alums who have graduated over the past nine decades.”
As always, a hot dog lunch with soft drinks, bottled water, chips and chocolate chip cookies will be served at noon. There is no charge for admission.
The alumni association’s primary mission is to raise funds for the annual scholarships it awards each spring to help graduating seniors continue their education. In 2023 the charitable nonprofit association awarded $55,000 in scholarships to SPHS graduates.
Anyone who would like to volunteer to help with the picnic is welcome to join as early as 9 a.m. at the gazebos near the play area in the park.
