The South Pasadena High School varsity baseball team lost to visiting Segerstrom High of Santa Ana 1-0 in its CIF Southern Section Division V opener on May 3.
Senior Nolan Adams pitched a complete game with five strikeouts and no walks, while sophomore Aaron Kawasaki went 3-for-3. Junior Jon Bracamonte tallied a base hit, while senior Jesse Chavez walked once.
The Tigers finished the campaign second in the Rio Hondo League with an 8-4 record (17-12 overall).
