Boys’ Volleyball: Lafferty, Walsh Propel South Pas Past Temple City

The South Pasadena High School varsity boys’ volleyball team lost in straight sets at South High in Torrance, 22-25, 17-25, 17-25, in a nonleague match on March 26. Individual statistics were not reported to the Review.
The Tigers secured a four-game victory over visiting Temple City, 25-20, 25-19, 21-25, 25-22, in a Rio Hondo League match on March 21.
Sophomore Conan Lafferty racked up 14 kills, 10 digs, one block and one assist, junior Martin Walsh finished with 12 kills, 10 digs, one ace and one block, and junior James Dowd contributed 11 kills, eight digs, five blocks and one assist. Senior Ian Chang amassed 29 assists, nine digs, two aces and one kill, senior Ryan Estanislao registered 13 digs, eight assists and four aces, and senior Nigel Mundara produced 11 assists and five digs. Junior Jacob Chuang recorded four kills and one block, junior Jack Pellerin contributed four kills and one dig, and freshman Liam Johnson chipped in two kills and one block. Sophomore Wyatt Morimoto-Woo tallied two digs and one kill, while freshman Lorcan Swift had one kill and one block.
South Pasadena (9-7 overall, 3-1 in league) will visit Burroughs High in Burbank for a nonleague match on April 2 at 3:45 p.m. before traveling to La Cañada on April 9.
