Softball: South Pas Edges Monrovia in League Matchup

The South Pasadena High School varsity softball team lost to visiting Temple City 6-0 in a Rio Hondo League game on March 19.
Natalie Kan pitched a complete game with two strikeouts, while Talula Bearden and Leila Nolasco each recorded a base hit.
The Tigers secured a 9-7 victory at Monrovia in a league game on March 15.
Danica Stirling slugged a two-run home run, scored an additional run and walked twice, while Bearden went 3-for-4 with three RBIs. Kan, who had a hit, two runs and a stolen base at the plate, pitched two scoreless innings with one strikeout, while Lucia Atencio pitched five innings with three strikeouts. Emma Becerra recorded a hit and an RBI, while Ava Dawson tallied a base hit. Nolasco was credited with three runs and an RBI, Sydney Lee walked once and scored once, and Adelaide Bertolina scored once.
South Pasadena (6-6 overall, 2-3 in league) will host Alhambra for a nonleague game on March 23 at 10 a.m. before resuming league action at La Cañada on March 26.
