South Pasadena Girls’ Basketball Topples Flintridge Prep in CIF Showdown

The South Pasadena High School varsity girls’ basketball team defeated host Flintridge Prep of La Cañada Flintridge 48-33 in the second round of the CIF Southern Section Division II-AA playoffs on Feb. 10 as junior Kayla Boozer posted a double-double with 22 points, 17 rebounds, three blocks and one steal.
Senior Dylan Tse poured in 13 points with four rebounds, three steals and three assists, while senior Jamie Rain Kim registered 10 points and one assist. Junior Mia Leach chipped in three points, one rebound and one assist, sophomore Madeline Park recorded four assists, two rebounds and one steal, and junior Katie Chung tallied two rebounds and one steal.
The Tigers (26-4 overall) advanced to the quarterfinals and hosted Mark Keppel High of Alhambra (20-10 overall) on Feb. 14; the game ended after the Review’s press deadline and will be included in next week’s issue. If victorious, South Pasadena would advance to the semifinals and meet either St. Anthony High of Long Beach (22-7) or Ventura (27-4) on Feb. 17.
