The South Pasadena High School varsity boys’ soccer team lost 2-1 to visiting Chaminade High of West Hills in double overtime in the CIF Southern Section Division III wildcard match on Feb. 5.
Sophomore Mick Dubester finished with five saves, sophomore Zach Millar scored one goal and junior Emilio Gonzalez-Mosqueda had one assist.
The Tigers concluded the regular season and Rio Hondo League action with a convincing 8-0 victory at Blair High in Pasadena on Feb. 1 as Gonzalez-Mosqueda chipped in two goals.
Junior Leonard Fiss recorded one goal and one assist, senior Sawyer Fox, senior Victor Zarazua, sophomore Theo Grand, sophomore Aidan Chavez and Millar each tallied one goal, and senior Evan Takeda-Teer, senior Mikey Hirano, junior Seiji Gallo, junior Joel Kim and sophomore Leo Sanchez were each credited with one assist. Dubester made three saves, while junior Austin Hwang had one save.
South Pasadena finished the campaign third in league with a 5-2-3 record (7-5-3 overall).
