Tigers Boys’ Soccer Routs San Marino, Blair

The South Pasadena High School varsity boys’ soccer team shut out host San Marino 5-0 in a Rio Hondo League game on Jan. 19.
Senior captain Evan Takeda-Teer chipped in two goals, sophomore Aidan Munoz finished with one goal and one assist, and junior Joel Kim and sophomore Zach Millar each scored one goal. Sophomore Leo Sanchez was credited with three assists, while junior Austin Hwang made one save.
The Tigers defeated visiting Blair High of Pasadena 5-3 in a league game on Jan. 17.
Senior Sawyer Fox and sophomore Mick Dubester each tallied two goals, while Sanchez scored one goal. Hwang recorded two saves, Takeda-Teer registered two assists, and senior Victor Zarazua, junior Ethan Kung and freshman Jackai William each had one assist.
SPHS (6-2-2 overall, 4-0-2 in league) will host Temple City for a league match on Jan. 26 at 4 p.m. before visiting Monrovia on Jan. 30.

GIRLS’ SOCCER
The South Pas varsity girls’ squad was shut out by visiting San Marino 3-0 in a Rio Hondo League game on Jan. 19.
The Tigers (4-5-2, 1-3-1) will visit Temple City for a league match on Jan. 26 at 4 p.m. before hosting Monrovia for their regular-season finale on Jan. 30.
