Police Arrest Man for Indecent Exposure, Child Annoyance

The South Pasadena Police Department arrested a man for indecent exposure and child annoyance on Jan. 16.
The alleged crime occurred after a teenage girl walking to school on the 1400 block of Monterey Road was approached by the suspect, an unhoused 27-year-old man. After the victim refused to speak to the man and walked away from him, the suspect then waved to her while visibly masturbating, police said.
SPPD took the man into custody after witnesses positively identified the suspect. The 27-year-old is currently being held in custody at Alhambra City Jail, and the case will be presented to the Los Angeles district attorney’s office for review and potential prosecution.
“The South Pasadena Police Department is committed to ensuring the safety and security of our community members, especially our youth,” SPPD said in a statement. “We encourage residents to report any suspicious activity promptly.”
Anyone with additional information about this incident is urged to call the department at (626) 403-7270. For anonymous tips, call Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS (8477).
