South Pasadena Rebounds With Nonleague Win

The South Pasadena High School varsity boys’ basketball team edged host Trabuco Hills High in Mission Viejo 60-59 in a nonleague game on Jan. 6 to end a three-game losing streak.
Senior Russell Williams racked up 21 points, seven rebounds, three steals, one block and one assist, junior Jack Madison poured in 16 points with four assists, three rebounds, two blocks and two steals, and senior Derek Peterson tallied 11 points, four rebounds, two steals and one assist. Junior Jacob Arias chipped in four points, three steals, three assists and one rebound, junior Sebastian Martinez finished with four rebounds, three points, three assists and two steals, and junior Oni Balogun contributed three points, three steals, three rebounds and two assists. Sophomore Kaden Anderson recorded two points and two rebounds, while senior Gavin Faulmino produced one rebound.
The Tigers (10-5 overall, 1-1 in league) will host Monrovia in a Rio Hondo League game on Jan. 12 at 7 p.m. before hosting Blair High of Pasadena on Jan. 17.
