The South Pasadena Tournament of Roses committee held its annual Crunch Time fundraiser at the South Pasadena War Memorial on Dec. 29.
Event chair Wende Lee brought together the South Pasadena community to raise funds for the city’s Rose Parade float, the oldest self-built float in the parade.
Auction chair Laura Kieffer brought together items ranging from trips to Mexico to South Pasadena High School booster swag to meals at local restaurants and more. Sponsored by many South Pasadena businesses and groups, the event served as a wonderful send-off to the float as it prepared for its journey down Colorado Boulevard.
The mission of the SPTOR committee is to create positive exposure for the city through participation in the Rose Parade, which will elevate the community and the organization by using principles based on voluntarism for the completion of South Pasadena’s annual floral entry.
