Tigers Cruise to Nonleague Victories

The South Pasadena High School varsity boys’ basketball team routed visiting Dorsey High of Los Angeles 82-24 in a nonleague game on Dec. 8 as senior Russell Williams racked up 23 points, four steals, four assists, three rebounds and one block.
Tigers junior Jack Madison recorded 13 points, seven rebounds, one steal and one block, while senior Derek Peterson tallied 12 points, six assists, four steals and two rebounds. Junior Oni Balogun contributed eight points, two steals, two assists and one rebound, while sophomore Kaden Anderson finished with eight points, three rebounds, one steal and one assist. Junior Miles Nowe produced four points, four steals and two assists, while junior Kevin Hu chipped in three points, three assists, two rebounds and one steal. Senior Taj Ringer registered three points, three rebounds and one steal, junior Lucas Miller notched three points, two rebounds and one block, and senior Gavin Faulmino had two points, one steal and one rebound. Senior Sebastian Martinez was credited with two assists, one steal and one point, while senior Kyle Miao scored two points.
The Tigers cruised to an 80-39 victory over visiting Franklin High of Los Angeles in a nonleague game on Dec. 6.
Williams racked up 20 points, eight rebounds, five assists and four steals, Peterson registered 17 points, five steals, five assists and one rebound, and Balogun finished with 14 points, three rebounds, one steal and one assist. Madison recorded seven points, six rebounds, one block, one steal and one assist, Ringer tallied six points, three rebounds and one steal, and Nowe contributed five steals, four points, two assists and one rebound. Martinez chipped in four points, three steals and three rebounds, while Hu produced four points, three rebounds and one assist. Anderson notched five rebounds, two points, two assists and one steal, while Faulmino collected three rebounds, two steals and one point. Miller was credited with four rebounds and one point, while Miao had one rebound.
SPHS (6-1 overall as of Dec. 12) will visit La Cañada for a Rio Hondo League game on Dec. 15 at 7 p.m. before hosting its SoCal Christmas Classes, starting with a matchup against Jordan High of Long Beach on Dec. 26.
