The city welcomed submissions for its first annual Halloween Décor Contest, which included submissions from businesses and residents, and selected a winner based on creativity and effort. The winner of this year’s contest is Sam Laksman. The décor includes skeleton rock stars playing classic rock music on various instruments. In addition, it featured a handmade entryway to a merchandise stand — like a real rock concert. Scattered across the front yard are headstones of rock stars who have died. Most of the pieces were handcrafted, and less than $300 was spent putting it all together, the resident reported. - Photo courtesy city of South Pasadena
