Tigers Back On Track With Pair of League Victories

The South Pasadena High School varsity girls’ volleyball team swept host San Marino, 25-18, 25-10, 25-11, in a Rio Hondo League matchup on Oct. 3 as senior co-captain Jenna Garner racked up 13 kills, eight digs, two aces and one block.
Senior co-captain Helena Foord contributed eight kills, four digs and two aces, senior Ingrid Zahn produced five kills, five digs and three blocks, and sophomore Senya Dorny chipped in three kills and one dig. Senior Kendall Taylor tallied 20 assists, six digs and one kill, junior Ava Conti registered eight digs, four aces, one kill and one assist, and freshman Evan Taylor finished with eight assists, two kills, two digs and one ace. Senior Yunah Chung recorded three digs and one kill, senior Maggie Hunter was credited with two digs and one kill, and junior Jolene Wu notched two assists and one kill. Junior Olivia Slattery collected two digs and one block, junior Kezia Gavlak had one kill and one dig, and senior Mia Ramos had four digs.
The second-place Tigers (15-6 overall, 5-1 in league) will host Buckley High of Sherman Oaks for Senior Night on Oct. 6 at 5:30 p.m. before concluding the regular season with a pair of league matchups on the road, first at La Cañada on Oct. 10 and then at Monrovia on Oct. 12.

The Tigers defeated visiting Temple City in four games, 23-25, 25-14, 25-20, 25-16, in a league match on Sept. 28.
Foord racked up 17 kills, five digs and one ace, Garner contributed 16 kills, 13 digs and three aces, and Zahn finished with 24 digs, 12 kills and one ace. Kendall Taylor amassed 45 assists, seven digs, two kills and one ace, while Conti tallied 19 digs, four assists and one ace. Dorny chipped in nine kills, Hunter recorded three kills, one dig and one assist, and Ramos produced three digs and one assist.
