SPHS Has 8 National Merit Semifinalists

Eight South Pasadena High School students qualified as semifinalists in the 67th annual National Merit Scholarship program it was announced last week <em><strong>Miranda Liu <strong><em>front row from left <strong><em>Xiangbo Qi Ethan Xie<em><strong> and <strong><em>Alyssandra Lachica<em><strong> along with <strong><em>Mason Whang<em><strong> back <strong><em>Connor Wang Jason Liu<em><strong> and <strong><em>Joseph Broderick<em><strong> join 16000 qualifying students nationwide who represent less than 1 of US high school seniors competing for about 7500 scholarships Semifinalists qualify by taking the Preliminary SATNational Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test and earning scores that are among the highest in the state These talented SPHS seniors now have the opportunity to compete for National Merit scholarships which will be announced in the spring of 2022
