South Pasadena High School 11th graders who volunteer for South Pasadena Lion’s Heart Class of 2025 will hold their fourth annual book drive to benefit Crete Academy next week.
The book drive collection days will be held on Saturday, May 18, and Sunday, May 19, from 1-4 p.m. at the entrance of the South Pasadena Middle School parking lot.
Crete Academy is an elementary school for children living in poverty, with about 30% of its students being unhoused. The academy’s two campuses are in need of books for its school library.
Any new or nearly new books would be greatly appreciated, the group said.
