Tigers Put Pen to Paper on College Commitments

South Pasadena High School honored 13 seniors for their athletic achievements and commitments as they plan to continue their academic and athletic careers at the collegiate level during a signing ceremony in the campus gym on May 16.
SPHS Athletic Director C.B. Richards, alumnus Gary Goodrich, and senior Kendall Taylor, the SPHS commissioner of athletics, were keynote speakers at the event.
Following brief remarks from Richards, Goodrich and Taylor introduced all 13 student-athletes. Taylor presented each signee with a red rose to commemorate their accomplishments. She also put pen to paper on May 16, committing to play volleyball at Occidental College.
The track and field signees are Simone Assaf (University of California, Santa Cruz), Zoya Brown (Sacred Heart University), Mia Holden (UCLA), Lyla Keller (University of California, Santa Barbara), Shelbey Lu (Bryn Mawr College) and Keeran Murray (Yale University).
The volleyball signees are Helena Foord (New York University), Jenna Garner (University of Pennsylvania), Maggie Hunter (Pasadena City College) and Ingrid Zahn (Colby College). Nolan Adams will play baseball at Pacific University, while Danica Stirling will continue her softball career at Claremont McKenna College.
After the introductions, family and friends took photos and enjoyed light refreshments.
