Tigers’ CIF Run Ends in Second Round

The South Pasadena High School varsity boys’ water polo team lost to visiting Woodbridge High of Irvine 11-5 in the second round of the CIF Southern Section Division IV playoffs on Nov. 2.
Junior Kenta Fernandes tallied four goals, while junior Theo Hilger added one goal.
The Tigers posted a 12-6 victory at Charter Oak High in Covina in their CIF opener on Oct. 31, as junior Jackson Wingard and Fernandes each scored three goals.
Senior Kyler Ho and Hilger each recorded two goals, while junior Nathan Greene and sophomore Diego Pizarro each had one goal.
SPHS concluded the campaign third in the Rio Hondo League with a 6-4 record (11-18 overall).
